Who We Are
We are a group of volunteer developers and operations people that strive to improve our society by helping to support Kubernetes environments for Israeli non-profit organizations and individuals.
Hello, I'm Ori, i've been doing this kind of work for the past 2+ years for non-profit organizations like The Public Knowledge Workshop, Midburn and The Museum of The Jewish People. I see growing interest and need for this kind of work from additional organizations. I also see growing interest from volunteers which want to get involved with this kind of work to help our society.
What We Do
We coordinate and consolidate efforts of non-profit organizations in Israel to implement and support common infrastructure requirements based on Kubernetes.
Our goal is to ensure long-term, secure, best practice systems which could stay online, backed up or maintained even if the project was abandoned. We have a small team of volunteers, working remotely and meeting every Monday evening at Google campus Tel Aviv, please contact us for more details regarding the Meetup. We believe there is a common core to many non-profit volunteer based projects which is worth to consolidate for the betterment of our society via the excellent work the supported organizations and individuals are doing.
Join The Team
Whether you are a non-profit organization or an individual, you are welcome to join our team!
Joining the K972IL team requires a commitment to positively contribute to the efforts of the supported projects for 2-3 hours per week for a minimal period of 6 months. After the initial 6 months period, membership is for life, as long as you continue to contribute positively to our projects at any capacity. The team works together to guide and help each other. Each member can choose which project or task to work on and are expected to self-manage. The work can be done remotely with communication in our private support forum and/or (recommended!) attend our weekly meetup in Tel Aviv. All team members get access to post to our private support forum and to the public announcements forum. Read the Team Members Handbook for more guidelines and requirements. You can send requests to join the team to firstname.lastname@example.org or via the contact form.
